I was sent this item of propaganda, supposedly written by an oil-rig worker … but I sincerely doubt that

The Urine Test

This was written by a rig worker in North Sea – he makes a lot of sense! (My arse, he does!! – Stu)

I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to earn that pay cheque, I work on a rig for a drilling contractor. I am required to pass a random urine test, with which I have no problem.

What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don’t have to pass a urine test. Shouldn’t one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare cheque because I have to pass one to earn it for them?
Please understand that I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sit on their ass drinking beer and smoking dope.

Could you imagine how much money the government would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a welfare cheque? Please pass this along if you agree or simply delete if you don’t.

Hope you will pass it along though, because something has to change in the UK, and soon!

Hmmmmmmm? …………. And here was my reply!

I don’t work, or pay taxes … I’m unemployed

This is because I live in a society that sees me as an employment resource, and not as a human being.

If it suits industry’s and society’s needs, my family and myself will be forced to suffer poverty, homelessness, and social deprivation

I would gladly accept any employment that would financially benefit both myself and my family

Unfortunately, the accountants, and bean counters of industry, ensure that I’m only offered employment at a minimum wage, barely above the poverty level, for my labours

This is known as “The Poverty Trap”

The entrepreneurs of industry earn a disproportionate wealth for their labours, in that some 7% of our population control and use, for their own needs, some 84% of the wealth generated by our labours

In a world where two-thirds of our population live below the poverty line, and face starvation daily, this is an obscenity

That 7%’s “need” for luxury goods, second & third homes, a variety of expensive, environment destroying cars, vicarious entertainment, and all manner of wasteful luxury, is supposedly more important and valid than the needs of the disease-ridden, unsheltered, unfed, hopeless, war-torn majority

This greedy minority use emotional arguments to justify their wanton excess, blaming the poor for the very situation they suffer from

Blame the Victim is a common propaganda tool, whether it be used against women who dress provocatively to encourage rape, homosexuals whose depraved lifestyle causes disease, or drug addicts who are of no value to society and therefore the authors of their own misfortunes

The perpetrators of our misfortunes smoke cigars and drink brandy, and it is my contention that these vices are the root-cause of their complete lack of any moral or social conscience

In future, anyone who wishes to adopt the lifestyle of the rich & infamous should be required to undergo a Urine Test to establish if they are trying to take the piss

And, while we’re at it, can we also urine test the financial directors of the many banks looking for public assistance, and those heridetary welfare scrounge, the Royal Family … both groups reknowned for their cocaine use

  1. bang on stu. some groups or people will try any route’to impose there weak an shallow view’z,,,,, stay alert.bro.X

  2. Stu’s blog postings are like buses!

Very witty and a point well made Stu. I’m not really a socialist (obviously! I mean we’ve got a monobloc driveway) and I spend each day at capitalism’s coal face.
However £100 million pounds to transfer a footballer? plain wrong. Same with the bonuses and perks paid to the bastards who couldn’t run the banks.
Perhaps though the picture you paint has a wee bit of colour here and there and isn’t just black and white?

    *Gets coat*

  3. Aye, well Rab, firstly: You ARE a socialist, but like so many members of the working class who have monobloc driveways, you just haven’t realised it yet.

There’s only Us & Them, and you ain’t one of Them … I mean Rab, in Helensburgh? … C’mon.

As for The Picture … I didn’t paint it; Rab

I’m merely the one shining the light of truth on it, so that people will see the airbrushed & photoshopped lies and inconsistencies that have been added to it in order to create a climate of blame on various scapegoats, so that the real criminals once again remain at large

Blaming “welfare-scroungers”, single parents, immigrants, etc, etc, is one of the most pernicious, and common, tools of the right-wing media

I was only asking for a level playing-field if “drug-testing” is on the cards

    What’s wrong with that?

Doesn’t seem to me to be an extreme of either black or white to ask for a more balanced approach

  4. Stu I agree with almost everything you say and surely you realise I was being a bit tongue in cheek (about the monobloc driveway!) there.

I remember seeing Freddie Broadley in a BBC comedy saying “I’m middle class! I’ve got a Mercedes and a Pringle jumper!” – it was an attempt at something like that.

As I said, very witty and a point well made.

I just think society may not be quite as polarised as all that.

But hey! nae point in falling out about it, it’s just a point of view.

  5. Arite Stu, howz life ower on the west side? The fud thit wrote the original is definitely rippin the pish.

Itz jist a 50 calibre gittin loaded wi bullets made o pish an firin thum tih wind us ah up – an sometimes the succeed – but good shout back fae yirsel!
